WEEKLY
REFLECTION
IV SEMESTER
17/11/16
- 18/11/16
As the part of B.Ed. curriculum the second part our teaching
practice for thirty days started on 16, November 2016. This time also I got
S.N.Trust H.S.S., Kollam and I was really glad for that. There were fifteen
teacher trainees with me. The concerned teacher allotted for me to take fourth
and fifth unit of eighth standard and I completed the poem the ‘First shower’ and started the chapter ‘The Nightingale and the Rose’. This time
I was very familiar with the school atmosphere.
21/11/16
- 25/11/16
On this week I continued with the chapter ‘The Nightingale and the Rose’. Pupils were
very co-operative during the classes and it helped me in the smooth running of
classes. It was interesting to know that they connected this story to a song in
the Malayalam movie and that was new information for me. This week I got many
substitution periods and I enjoyed a lot.
29/11/16–
2/12/16
I started the third week of our teaching practice on 29,
November 2016. On this week also I continued with the chapter ‘The Nightingale and the Rose’ and pupil
made their own suggestion to help the Nightingale and I found that very
creative, so I encouraged them by giving chocolates.
5/12/16
– 7/12/16
On this week I got only two classes because of educational
strike and the past part of fourth semester teaching practice got over on 7th
December 2016 and went back on to our college for University exams. This week
our concerned teacher, Ambili Mam visited our school for observing our classes
and this time she gave tips to give the class more effective. So I started
practicing as per her instruction. But this week I completed the thirteenth and
fourteenth lesson plan.
3/1/17
– 6/1/16
The second semester of our fourth semester teaching practice,
started on 3/1/17, and that was my past class on the New Year. With two classes
I completed the rest of the chapters ‘The
Nightingale and the Rose’ and started the new chapter ‘The School for Sympathy’. On this week itself I conducted the diagnostic
test during a free period.
9/1/17
– 13/1/17
On this week our general teacher Sangeetha Miss visited our
school for observing our classes and teacher gave delighting feedbacks on my
class, that encouraged me a lot and this week I completed the chapter ‘The School for Sympathy’. And on the
Thursday we got the duty serving the meals for the students and we did that
with immense pleasure.
16/1/17
– 20/1/17
On this week I started the chapter ‘The Merchant of Venice’ with an impressive entry activity. The
pupil were curious to learn this chapter and on week itself I took the advance
organizer model on the topic ‘Tenses’ and found the class very effective. On
Thursday we the trainees conducted our conscientization programme on the topic
‘IMPORTANCE OF PEACE EDUCATION’ and we got good feedbacks from the students.
And this week itself I conducted achievement test during a free period.
23/1/17
– 24/1/17
With this week we came to the end of our fourth semester
teaching practice and I took two models, role play model based on the chapter
‘The Merchant of Venice’ and concept attainment model on the topic. Pupils were
very much interested in doing the role play model. On the whole with this
teaching practice I gained a lot of experience which will help me in my future career.

Oscar
Wilde’s ‘The Nightingale and the Rose’ is a folk tale in which a
nightingale

the
student unless he gives her a red rose. Taking pity on the student,
the nightingale sacrifices her life in order

man. However, the bird’s sacrifice proves to be in vain. The story
foreshadows the consequences
